The Sevylor QuickPak is the grab-and-go kayak. Portable and lightweight with an integrated backpack storage system, the QuickPak easily folds up into a backpack. Just unpack and inflate, and you're ready to go. The 1-Person Covered Sit-On-Top QuickPak holds up to 250 pounds and measures 8'8" long by 2'4" wide. It's durably constructed of 900D polyester on top, and 1000D x 1000D polyester laminated with 24-gauge PVC on bottom. A stretch cargo net offers handy storage. Tracking fins make for easier steering, while handles offer easy boarding. A paddle is included, as well as a dual-action hand pump for inflation. Guaranteed not to leak, thanks to Sevylor's exclusive Airtight System, the boat's Double-Lock and Mini Double-Lock Valves prevent accidental air loss and ensure quick, easy inflation and deflation.

Hoping it was the same quality as the previous version.

Years ago I had a Sevylor sit on top kayak an loved it. It had long tubes that were inserted in the bottom to make it rigid and it lasted at least four years before it was finally on its last leg. This summer I wanted to get another one and went in search of a good replacement. Since the previous Sevylor I had lasted for a long time and was good to me I thought that this new Sevylor QuickPak seemed like a good buy. The first time I took it out on the river it worked good. There were no long tubes on the bottom to make it rigid instead it had a cover. After this first outing I let it dry and then folded it up and zipped it into the backpack. While zipping it up one of the zippers broke the pull tab. Not a big deal to me at the time. The second time I took it out I could not get it to inflate correctly. The left inflatable tube continued to inflate larger than the right causing the whole craft to be off. I attempted to deflate and re-inflate it several times before giving up as something was obviously wrong with the internal inflation bladders. I am very disappointed in the quality of the product as it failed the second time out. I have returned the product and do not think I will purchase another such product from Sevylor.

the kayak cannot be used to paddle, it's very unstable and prone to flip over very easily; it took me a big effort to keep it straight and I ended up letting my feet in the water to be able to balance it(ride it like a bike).
Another design flow is the exterior fabric cover that can easily slip around the inner inflatable pvc-that can screw the boat shape and agravate its already shaky stability.
Returned it in the first day of use.

I wanted this product to be what it appears

I really wanted this to be what it appears and despite reading all of the reviews on this product, I ordered it.

The good:
- is well made
- is well designed
- would be a lot of fun as a kids toy (albeit expensive and overkill)

The bad:
- the web product discription, the packaging and the product all state that it is rated for 1 person and 250 lbs. This is not the case. I weigh 220 and it cannot be inflated enough to be rigid and usable as designed. Instead, it becomes a floating taco shell. In other words, not much fun!
