The Vapor 12s is one of Old Town’s newest get-in-and-go kayaks. This sporty kayak offers a stable efficient, and comfortable ride and is designed to cover a wide variety of paddling activities. Ideal for lakes, estuaries and protected waters, The Vapor 12s goes way beyond the basics with features. With the adjustable Comfort Flex seat with a padded seat, adjustable foot braces, and thigh pads, you get a secure and comfortable paddling position. The molded-in paddle rest gives you a place for your paddle while you’re eating of shooting photographs of your friends. The cockpit dash offers a cup holder and storage for small items. Built in sturdy grab handles make loading and unloading a breeze. Like other Vapor series models, the truly revolutionary design feature of the Vapor 12s is the stern Day Well. The outer edges of the Day Well are higher than the cockpit rim and well above the water; your lunch and other items stay dry above the waves and out of the dripped-in and tracked-in mud and water in the bilge of the kayak. Also available are the Old Town Vapor 10XT and 12XTS models which include a cover on the Day Well to keep your belongings out of the sun and rain, a bungee to hold your paddle in the paddle-park, additional seat and seat-back padding, and a bungees iPad storage area for your portable elctronics. Just what we were looking for

A great kayak. Very stable in rougher water, adjustable foot pedals and seat are very nice. I have tried smaller, cheaper kayaks that really plow through the water, with the bow tracking back and forth. This old town cuts straight through the water. Its best suited for calm waters but I have had it out in a big lake with lots of waves. It wasn't exactly easy paddling but I never felt like I was going to flip. A great choice for someone who wants a more serious kayak without shelling out lots of money.

Great Fun Kayak

Took it down a local river for a camping trip, this kayak is really stable and very easy to maneuver the only time it even felt like tipping was when I did a 180 without slowing down and even then it wasn't so bad. It also took a heavy beating and still kept going, the river had many fallen trees since there was a thunderstorm the previous night and was still raining during the trip. at least 4 times in the trip the kayak collided with sunken debris at least twice beached on tree trunks and came out unscathed. I love this kayak and plan to buy a bunch of silly accessories for it just because it is so great!

UPDATE: Kayak fell off my dads truck at 50 mph rolled for a bit just missing a caddy by a few feet. the only damages are a few scratches along the sides. I took out for a lake run the next week and had no problems.

I'm loving this kayak! Bought it as a gift for myself for my 52 birthday. It paddles nicely and makes a straight shot in the water. It feels sturdy on calm waters. I don't expect to white-water in it, so I can't say how it would work for that. It's perfect for lake and easy river kayaking. I love the open cockpit. It's not a sit-on-top but I still get sun on my legs. My little dog would fit in it nicely....just have to find her a life jacket....
